Krsko Chiropractic Gives Back

Local chiropractors, Dr. Christine Krsko and Dr. Mandy Pearce (formerly Wolf), recently donated their time and services to raise funds for Second Harvest to help hungry children. This was part of Krsko Chiropractic’s 2009 Miracle Year of Wellness to benefit children in the community. With two promotions in the Spring and Fall, the two doctors provided new patient services, including exam, x-ray, and analysis for foot orthotics, in exchange for a donation to Second Harvest. The final collection amount for the year was $1294.00, in addition to some school supplies. All proceeds are going to Second Harvest’s Kids Café Program, which provides an after school meal to children between the ages of 6 and 17 who may not otherwise get enough to eat at home.
Currently, Second Harvest provides food to seven Kids Café programs in Wisconsin, three located in Milwaukee. In addition to food, each café provides nutrition education, homework assistance, holiday dinners, gift boxes, and school supplies.
Earlier this year, Krsko Chiropractic held a March Madness Raffle in there office to benefit children who attended a summer 2009 burn camp. The winner of the raffle won a 32” flat screen tv. Krsko Chiropractic raised $375 with the help of their patients and community members. All of the money raised during the raffle was donated to the 2009 Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety (WAFS) Burn Camp held August 16-22 at Camp Timberlee in East Troy, WI. The WAFS joins with Columbia St. Mary's Regional Burn Center-Milwaukee, Children's Hospital-Milwaukee, and the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics for this burn camp.
On Nov. 3, Krsko Chiropractic hosted a Women’s Health and Interest Fair held at the Polish Center of Wisconsin and collected books, DVDs, CDs, and puzzles at the door to be donated to the Franklin Public Library. With the help of generous people in the community and “The Friends of Franklin Library”, over 200 of these items were donated to the library. Krsko Chiropractic also held a fundraiser for The Fisher House in July, raising $2216. The Fisher House provides housing for wounded soldiers and their families, similar to The Ronald McDonald House

Dr. Christine Krsko and Dr. Mandy Pearce (formerly Dr. Wolf) of Krsko Chiropractic Clinic provided new patient services and an entire day of services to their active patients in exchange for a minimum donation of $17.76 to be given to The Fisher House. Similar to The Ronald McDonald House, The Fisher House is an organization that provides housing for families of wounded soldiers so that they may be close to their loved ones during their recovery from their injuries and illnesses. The Fisher House Foundation donates “comfort homes” on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. Dr. Pearce stated, “We are very excited to make a great contribution to The Fisher House. We learned about this organization from one of our patients who is familiar with their services. He knows first hand that they do so much for our soldiers and their families in times of need. We were able to raise $2216 to give to the foundation. This is the third year in a row that Krsko Chiropractic has had a fundraiser for The Fisher House. This is something they will continue to do every year. There are at least two other well-known donators to The Fisher House. Actor Denzel Washington has made great contributions and The Fisher House was the main charity featured at the 2008 Indy 500 Race.

Young victims of burn injuries can face a long road back to healing, physically and emotionally. It's easy to feel like an outcast among your peers when you bear the scars of a serious burn. Burn camp helps these children feel just like one of the group.
Officials at the burn camp said that the money will go towards healthy snacks, personal hygiene products, such as toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and Walmart gift cards for the children to purchase swim wear and summer clothes.
